Music tuition

The Music department at St. George’s School is an important and expanding one. Music is taught in a purpose built room and is resourced with the latest MIDI keyboard and a new tuned / untuned percussion, sufficient for every child in each class to be able to participate actively in each activity. It is the firm belief of the department that music is paramount to education at all levels, not only to stimulate but also to maintain curiosity, interest and enjoyment.

To encourage individual musical skills, the Music Department encourages all children to become involved in our After School Instrument clubs and we also offer Individual lessons from external virtuosi at a minimal extra cost. If your child has an interest in any instrument we can usually find a highly experienced instrumentalist to help and guide.

The Music Department also actively promotes group activities culminating in several performances per year in our Main Hall. Our School Choir and bands very much look forward to performing in our regular Autumn and Spring concerts.
